Senior Backend Engineer – Agentic Systems (m/f/d)

What we look for: You build the production backbone that enables our Forward Deployed AI Engineers (FDEs) to turn agentic workflows into secure, reliable, measurable, and reusable customer solutions. You design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, asynchronous workflows, queues, databases, and distributed systems using Python, TypeScript, or comparable technologies. You create robust orchestration patterns for agentic systems, including tool calling, stateful workflows, routing, retries, human approvals, and context management. You build and maintain integrations with enterprise systems and SaaS applications, including OAuth, webhooks, SDKs, API clients, and data ingestion pipelines. You ensure production reliability through resilient error handling, idempotent design, rate-limit management, fallbacks, audit logs, and effective incident debugging. You develop evaluation and observability capabilities, including test datasets, trace capture, quality metrics, structured logging, workflow-level dashboards, and cost and latency monitoring. You establish shared platform primitives, templates, security standards, and governance patterns that accelerate each new FDE deployment while protecting customer data.
